BBC reports on Guinea Migrant Found Behind Car Engine
Ass P&I Correspondents, our network of offices around the world are regularly confronted with cases of stowaways risking life and limb to flee their home country by sea.
On board vessels, desperate stowaways will not hesitate to hide in the empty spaces around rudder trunks, funnel casings, hold vent shafts, chain lockers, deck cargo, lifeboats or containers no matter how dangerous this may be.
From a recent BBC article, we see that some Guinean migrants recently found a new and very uncomfortable way of travelling by road http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-34114597.
In the meantime, we would strongly recommend that vessels follow the loss prevention guidance published by their Clubs and contact their P&I Correspondents as soon as any stowaways are discovered on board.
